Patient Led Ordering

We've had a number of queries recently about changes to the way prescriptions are ordered. Please be aware - this change is not unique to our surgery, but is being introduced across Greater Manchester by the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership.

The aim of this campaign 'Patient Led Ordering' is to:
Give patients more control over their medication orders
Reduce medicine waste
Improve safety by avoiding stockpiling

What's changing?
For many years, we have not accepted repeat prescription requests over the phone - this remains the same. This policy helps us ensure accuracy and safety and reduces long call queues caused by prescription requests

Vulnerable patients can still ask their pharmacy to order on their behalf.

The safest and easiest way to request regular medication is via the NHS App, which is recommended by NHS Greater Manchester.

You can order your repeat prescriptions:
Online via the NHS App
Online via Patient Access
At reception
By dropping your repeat form in the surgery post box

We understand these changes may be frustrating, but we are working closely with local pharmacies to ensure a smooth transition. Thank you for your understanding and support.
